VNAI Pro

Create an API key

Start here — create a key, check your balance and quota, and choose the correct group

Complete this step before setting up Codex, Claude, or any client tool. You need a gateway API key and must meet all three requirements:

RequirementWhere to checkWhat you need
Account balancehttps://api.vnaipro.app/walletEnough balance to pay for your requests
API key quotahttps://api.vnaipro.app/keysEnough remaining key quota; account balance does not imply available key quota
Correct grouphttps://api.vnaipro.app/keysA group matching the model/tool you intend to use

1. Sign in and check your balance

  1. Open your wallet: https://api.vnaipro.app/wallet.
  2. Sign in if needed.
  3. Check your balance and follow the website's top-up instructions if it is insufficient.

Account balance and API key quota are separate limits. Adding funds to your wallet does not automatically increase a quota set on an individual key.

2. Create the API key

  1. Open key management: https://api.vnaipro.app/keys.
  2. Choose the option to create a new API key.
  3. Enter a recognizable name, such as auto-laptop.
  4. Choose the Auto group to share one key across Codex, Claude, and other models, or choose a dedicated group using the table below.
  5. Set enough quota for your usage. If the key has model restrictions, allow the model you plan to use.
  6. Create/save the key, then copy its value for client configuration.

Keep the key private. Paste the raw key into the client's API key field without a Bearer prefix.

3. Choose the correct group

Intended useRequired group
One key for Codex, Claude, and other modelsAuto group (recommended), for models supported by the group
Codex — CLI, extension, or appAuto group or a Codex group with models for Codex
Claude Code / Claude appAuto group or a Claude group with Claude models
OpenClaw, Hermes, OpenCode, Cursor, Qwen Code, Chatbox, Cline, DeepSeek HarnessAuto group or a dedicated group containing your selected model; the client must support the model's protocol

Auto group: one key for multiple tools

With the Auto group, use the same API key for Codex, Claude Code, the Claude app, and other clients with supported models. You do not need a separate key for each tool. Dedicated groups such as Codex or Claude remain limited to the models granted by that group.

In a client supporting multiple models, such as OpenCode, you can use the same Auto-group key for both Codex and Claude models, while selecting the appropriate adapter/protocol for each model. Check the group's model list and the key's model restrictions before configuring the client.

4. Check the key before installing a tool

  1. Open Check models and enter the new key.
  2. Copy the exact model ID for your client configuration.
  3. Confirm sufficient balance + sufficient key quota + the correct group.
  4. Continue with an installation guide below.

A successful model listing does not guarantee that inference will work when your balance or key quota is insufficient. If requests fail, read the error and revisit https://api.vnaipro.app/wallet and https://api.vnaipro.app/keys.

5. Set up your tool
